Presentation of Projects or Papers

Summary of this Day's Class
During the final class period the students gave presentations on their projects or papers.

Michael Horowitz gave an excellent discussion on the evolution of human language.
Sandy Papp presented his tree growing algorithm.
Michael Schmidt gave a demonstration of his implementation of Bak's sandpile model and showed how the avalanches in the model take on a power law distribution.
Josh Weisberg presented a paper entitled, "Perspectives on Pattee" where he discussed H.H. Pattee's ideas of complementarity of a physical law-based description of living organisms and an information symbol-based description.
Zohn Rosen gave a demonstration of neural synchronization inspired by Steven Strogatz's work.
Sheryl Branham wrote a paper on Advances in Classifier Systems, and talked about Ant Colony Optimization.

It was a very exciting class!
Excellent work everybody!
